Specializing in equity research and finance

My name is Graeme Thom. I am a freelance translator (Japanese to English) specializing in equity research (all sectors) and finance, including equity strategy, technical analysis, quantitative analysis, accounting, annual reports, and investor presentations.

Background:

I am currently translating on a freelance basis in addition to pursuing other business interests. I returned to freelance translation in late 2008. Prior to that I was employed as a supervisory analyst at a large brokerage firm and as a project manager at an investment company. I have also worked as an associate research analyst, in sales support, and as an in-house translator in the equity research division of a global securities firm.

My experience encompasses a broad range of industries and sectors. I previously worked in sell-side equity research - mainly in autos, and also real estate/construction, media/broadcasting, banks/nonbanks, and small caps. I have also interpreted at investor meetings, for telephone conference calls, and for company visits. Earlier work experience includes roles at a foreign branch of a Japanese bank and at a major global accounting firm.
